Mumbai: Jeweller gets threat calls asking for Rs 5 lakh

MUMBAI: Bandra police recently registered an FIR against an unknown person for threatening a 60-year-old jeweller with dire consequences. The suspect called the jeweller's office and demanded Rs 5 lakh ransom, failing which, his family members will be harmed.

The police are tracking the accused who had also threatened that his home and shop are under his surveillance and he shouldn't be held responsible if anything happens to his family members if his demands are not met. In the complaint, the jeweller said, "It was after I shared my mobile number in an online advertisement to get more customers, I started receiving threat messages."
