Mumbai Cricket Association to name it's museum after Sharad Pawar

MUMBAI: The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) will name its upcoming museum at the iconic Wankhede Stadium after its former president Sharad Pawar. The decision was approved at an urgent meeting of the Apex Council on Friday.

MCA president Vijay Patil proposed Pawar's name, which was seconded “unanimously” by the Apex Council members. TOI had on February 10 reported that the MCA was set take this decision on Friday.

Architect Sandeep Shikre & Associates will be the Project Management Consultancy firm for the museum.

"Naming our museum after Pawar is a prestigious thing for the MCA, as he has given glory to cricket in Mumbai, India and also at the international level. His contribution and passion towards cricket is immense and highly-appreciated at all levels of cricket.

"He gave Mumbai's cricket clubs the strength to promote the game. He started various pension schemes for retired cricketers, and also scholarships for under-privileged budding cricketers," said MCA Apex Council member.
