MUMBAI: A builder has been arrested from Kherwadi by the Andheri police after two women complained that he cheated them of Rs 24 lakh by promising inexpensive homes under SRA. One of the complainants told the police that when she met the builder in 2018, he told her that he was developing a plot at Gundavli in Andheri East and had good contacts in SRA office.
He also showed demo flat and said it would cost Rs 33 lakh. He asked her to pay Rs 15 lakh upfront. She paid Rs 12 lakh in cheque, and so did the other woman. However, when things didn’t proceed as promised, they approached the police and an FIR was registered.
