Mumbai: 1 drowns in Bandra creek, 1 feared dead

MUMBAI: One man died while another is missing after the two friends from Kurla drowned in a creek at Bandra on Thursday night. The incident occurred when the two friends had gone to attend nature's call. Asif Shaikh (25) and Javed Shaikh (28), both auto rickshaw drivers, slipped in the flowing creek.

Bandra police said Asif's body was found on Friday morning while Javed is still missing. A case of accidental death has been registered. Officials said that the incident occurred around 9:30pm at SV Road and Bandra Worli Sea Link Road junction. The Fire Brigade said the incident was designated as a level 1 disaster. It was reported at around 11:30 PM on Thursday. Search is on to find the second person.
