Mum living without hot water or heating sends children to stay with grandparents at night

A mum-of-two has slammed her letting agents, after she and her two children have been left without heating or hot water. Kelly Anne says there has been leak above her boiler for weeks, and she has had to send her two young kids to say with their grandparents or dad, at night.

Kelly lives in a two-bedroom terrace house with her two year old and three year old. The 28-year-old says she has been forced to throw away some of her belongings due to the water damage.

She says she got in touch with the letting agent - which acts on behalf of the landlord - and a maintenance worker was sent out on the same day. But the mum says the issue has still not been sorted. Kelly Anne pays £465 a month in rent - and says the service is not good enough, Stoke on Trent Live reports.

She said: “There was water dripping down my boiler and coming through the kitchen wall. Enough is enough, something needs doing now.

“I am scared for my own safety and my children's safety. When I have to turn the sockets off I have no hot water or heating, it’s absolutely freezing.

“People need to see what’s going on and it’s not good enough. I feel like I am not being listened to. The service has been shocking.”

The letting agent has told StokeonTrentLive that the landlord has already paid out over £5,000 towards this particular issue. They are 'in the process of trying to sort it'.
