Mum with sick toddler thanks Aldi worker for kind act that 'turned entire day around'

A mum who was struggling with her sick toddler has publicly thanked an anonymous Aldi employee for “turning her entire day around”.

Lucy Martin was shopping with her two children at the Aldi supermarket in St Helens, Merseyside, but was struggling due to her toddler being unwell and clinging to her.

Thankfully when she reached checkout a staff member stepped in to help.

In a Facebook post, Lucy said the stranger’s kindness was “very much appreciated” as she was having “a bit of a difficult day”, Liverpool Echo reports.

She wrote: “To the really lovely man called Paul who works at Aldi in Clock Face - and the man on the till who's name I didn't catch - thank you.

"I was shopping earlier with my baby and poorly toddler (who was stuck to me like glue) and Paul loaded up my shopping at the checkout and then he packed it all for me.

"It had been a bit of a difficult day and he really helped. So Paul if you're reading this, thank you for your kindness, it was very much appreciated.”

The post received a huge positive response with comments from people discussing the kindness of the Aldi worker, Paul, and their experiences with him.

One person said: "He’s the nicest man in the world!!! I gave him a bunch of daffodils at Easter because he genuinely makes my day, I always go to his queue.”

Another commented: "Paul is great. He's fantastic with my son, who has Down's Syndrome, and always remembers his birthday. He's a really caring person."
