Mum who watched boyfriend torture her toddler to death 'to be freed from jail'

A mother who watched her boyfriend torture her two-year-old daughter to death is set to walk free from jail within weeks, according to reports.

Donna Deaves, who was convicted of manslaughter for failing to act as Warren James Ross beat Tanilla Warrick-Deaves, is reportedly set to be let out of prison on October 17.

Ross, 30, whipped and killed little Tanilla in New South Wales, Australia, in 2011.

A court heard during Ross's trial that Deaves sat and watched as he tortured her daughter.

The toddler was tragically left to die in her pram with serious head injuries.

Deaves was jailed for manslaughter for 12 years in 2013 with a non parole period of nine years while Ross was jailed for 40 years for murder.

But Deaves is now set to be freed on October 17 as parole bosses accept there is specialist help for her outside prison, according to 9 news.

Tanilla's stepmother, Brooke Bowen, previously told Australian news show A Current Affair she believed Deaves should never be granted parole.

"She don’t deserve to get out," she said.

"Tanilla is never coming home, ever, why should she get to come home? She was just so tiny and full of life.

"What she would have went through those last couple of days of her life hoping that her mum would save her or someone would come along and save her, but they didn’t."
