Mum who makes Strictly's eyelashes fled life of abuse to provide makeup to the stars

A woman who claims she was trapped in an abusive relationship for five years fled and found happiness providing makeup to the stars.

Jade Goddard was bombarded with calls and texts by an ex-partner, who she says headbutted her while they were out shopping.

After years of alleged abuse the mum-of-two realised she had leave him behind and start a new life for herself, The Daily Post reported.

She said: "I knew I had to get out. I couldn’t do it anymore. I can’t and won’t live with it."

The now 34-year-old moved to Anglesey in North Wales where she began work as an apprentice at a salon.

A year later she bought the business and began growing its client base.

In 2018 she decided to go one step further and set up 'Lashed by JLG Cosmetics', an ethical makeup company which refuses to use animal-sourced products, such as mink lashes.

The company's use of synthetic fibre lashes and vegan glue has proved a hit, with celebrities all over the world signing up.

A year on from its launch Lashed supplies fake eye lashes to famous faces from Emmerdale, Eastenders, Coronation Street and Strictly Come Dancing .

Jade said: “The most famous person to wear my lashes is probably Jennifer Coolidge, Stiffler’s mom in American pie.

“But they’re used by MUA’s all over, on Emmerdale, Eastenders, Coronation Street, Strictly, and I’ve had Katy Price, Kerry Katona, Danielle Lloyd, Amy Hart and Molly May from Love Island, Beyonce ’s hairdresser and all sorts.

“I think I’ve done amazing in the time I’ve been doing it. I’m so proud of myself.”

Jade has plans to extend the business in the future.
