A mum has told how nasty trolls accused her of being "selfish" for adopting a child at the age of 49.
After suffering another heartbreaking miscarriage, Kris Monsour and her partner decided to adopt a child.
"Being told at 41, after my latest miscarriage, that I would never be a mum and to accept my fate," she said on her TikTok @thevintageparents, where she bravely shared her story.
Two years ago, Kris recalled receiving a text asking if she and her partner were still looking to adopt, and after having had such a difficult time trying to conceive, they didn’t hesitate to say yes.
However, she has been subject to some comments from people online who said it was "unfair" of her to have a child at her age.

"That poor child who will sadly have a geriatric parent before she graduates school," one bluntly said.
"My father died at 60. I'm 26, and have to face the rest of my life without him - that's just unfair to the kids getting them so late," another added.
"At that age I would have never even tried - it’s so unfair to the child my grandma had my mum at 41 and my mum was in her 30’s when my grandma died," a third said.
But Kris is refusing to let cruel commenters get to her as in another video she can be seen holding her toddler daughter with a beaming smile on her face alongside the caption: "Me at 51 with my two-year-old.
"However motherhood comes to you, it's a miracle," she added.
Supporters also came out in droves to defend the couple’s decision.
"No amount of time is promised between any parent and child. However, being the best parent you can be while on this earth is all that matters," one insisted.
"These comments are awful… so happy for you and that your little girl will get so much love no matter what age you are" another applauded.
While one person summed it up perfectly by saying: "You're amazing - don't listen to the haters!"
