Mum watches on as toddler and pigeons share same piece of bread in park

A Merseyside mum has captured the moment her toddler tucked into a slice of bread with a group of pigeons.

On Sunday, August 8, mum Gemma Ratcliffe and her partner were out in Taylor Park in St Helens with their son Teddy, aged two, who was feeding the ducks.

The toddler was throwing lumps of bread over the fence against the wind to ducks eagerly waiting and decided to grab a slice for himself.

But Teddy crouched down and began munching into his end of the bread while four pigeons pecked their end sharing the snack.

Teddy's mum Gemma recorded the heartwarming clip of her generous son, unafraid of the birds that are often seen by many as pests - mainly due to their droppings.

In the video, Teddy is seen eating his bread unbothered by the pigeons who peck simultaneously at the otherend of the slice.

Gemma said: "He's eating one end and they [the pigeons] are eating the other.

"My partner and I took our son out for a walk around the park to feed the ducks.

"Teddy decided to eat some of the bread himself, so I filmed him and the pigeons eating the bread simultaneously."
