A woman was "just lying on the couch watching the telly" when a gunman burst into her home.
The victim, in her 50s, was rushed to hospital with a gunshot wound after being shot in a house on Deverell Grove, Wavertree. The shooting happened just after 12.15am on Tuesday, April 26.
Today Matrix officers were at the scene carrying out a fingertip search of the quiet residential close off Deverell Road, while crime scene investigators combed the house and detectives carried out house-to-house enquiries.

According to one woman who knows the family, the victim was lying on the couch watching TV when the gunman burst in.
One neighbour described the victim, a mum-of-four, as a "lovely person, with a heart of gold." She added: "The poor woman was doing nothing wrong. She was in her own home and that happened to her. I think it's disgusting. I'm just glad she's ok.
"I've known her for years. She'd do anything for anybody and is so laid back. It breaks my heart that this has happened to her."
She added: "This is a quiet road and there are no animosities here. We all look out for each other."
Another neighbour, who just wanted to be known as Max, said: "I was in my bed when I heard shots. It was one shot followed by two others and I knew it wasn't a firework.
"Ten minutes later it was like a police depot with all the police here.
"Very little happens in the street in the seven years I've lived here. We didn't even break lockdown protocols."
It is being reported that the suspect was leaving the house when he fired shots, one of which hit the victim in the leg. She is currently receiving treatment in hospital but the injury is not believed to be life threatening.
Police say the gunman escaped on a motorbike after the shooting with two other men and it is believed the motorbike was driven down Mill Lane, towards Edge Lane.
