A mum survived being choked, beaten and 'buried' in a brutal eight-hour ordeal, which left her with horrific injuries.
Tammy Lawrence-Daley, 51, of Delaware, US, was battered while on holiday with her husband and friends in the Dominican Republic.
She uploaded pictures to Facebook on Wednesday showing the devastating damage caused to her face in the attack, which happened in January.
In the social media post, Tammy wrote: "How do you explain to your kids you were almost killed by some random stranger and that ‘mummy is coming home, but I don’t look like myself’?"
The mother claims she was attacked while walking down a hallway to get some food at the Majestic Elegance resort.
She said: "Before I could react I was plowed [sic] into from behind and immediately immobilized.
"His arms wrapped around me and he started pulling me immediately into an unlocked maintenance room.

"I’m not going to go into the gory details of everything, however, please know that I fought with everything I had at that moment. He was too strong. The next eight hours brought me pain and fear."
The mother said the man dragged her downstairs to an underground waste water area and choked her out several times.

She added that her assailant kicked her in the head, beat her with a club and then dumped her body in an area she called 'the hole'.
Tammy wrote: "Somehow I survived. Again, I won't go into all of the hell that I went through being basically 'buried' in that hell hole for so many hours.
"I went missing at 10.30pm and was found over eight hrs later. It was hell.

"This man thought he killed me, but he failed. He is still out there, a predator, waiting for his next victim. Only the next woman may not be so fortunate."
The victim said she had to have surgery as a result of the attack and is still suffering from nerve damage.
Tammy has slammed Majestic Elegance for not offering to pay her medical bills or even refund her for the holiday.

She said Majestic Elegance argued it was not responsible for her ordeal, despite her claim that the criminal had the resort's logo on his uniform.
The mother urged other women not to walk around on their own in unfamiliar places.
The New York Post said Majestic Elegance did not immediately respond to a request for comment when it approached the resort about the story.
