Mum vows to get ‘justice’ for son, 15, after fatal stabbing in Dollis Hill

Jamal Ringrose - (Met Police)

The mother of a 15-year-old boy who died five days after he was stabbed outside a row of shops in northwest London, has paid tribute to her “beautiful, kind-hearted” son.

Jamal Ringrose died in hospital on Thursday after being attacked on Dudden Hill Lane in Dollis Hill on May 31.

Launching a fundraiser to cover funeral costs, his mother, Whitney Ringrose, described him as “the most beautiful gift”, as she vowed to get “justice” for her son.

“I am so grateful and blessed to have been chosen to be your mother,” she wrote.

“These 15yrs have been my best and ultimate sidequest of all time, I wouldn’t have changed anything.

“Jamal you changed me for the better, I grew from a child to a woman with the honour of being a mother throughout to the most beautiful, handsome, stunning, charming, brave, charismatic, talented, loving, kind hearted, hilarious, protective, intelligent, strong, ambitious, caring young man to have graced this earth.

“I love you eternally [...]Thank you once again for choosing me to be your Mum. Your village will get you justice and we will celebrate you.”

Metropolitan Police were called around 10.30pm on May 31 following reports of a stabbing.

Officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service.

Paramedics treated Jamal for stab wounds before taking him to hospital, where he sadly later died on June 4.

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with affray and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, after being arrested on June 2.

Officers also arrested a 16-year-old boy on Wednesday, June 3, and an 18-year-old man on Sunday, May 31 both on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm.

The boy was also arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and affray, and remains in police custody, while the man has since been released on bail.
