Mum uses coronavirus lockdown to set up heartwarming teddy bear displays in her garden

A mum has used the coronavirus crisis to turn her front lawn into a makeshift theatre stage.

Holly Saunders is putting on a daily dramatisation for the public using giant teddy bears.

The cuddly pals act out different scenes to bring some light to the lockdown shade.

It’s led to her displays becoming a big hit on social media and the talking point of her village.

Holly, of Coylton, told the Ayrshire Post: “It started out as a bit of fun and has rather snowballed from there.

“We’ve been taking things up a level and trying to do more ambitious themes as the weeks have passed.

“One day was an I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here theme with the bears flying through the garden on zip wires.

“It’s been great fun and a real talking point as lots of people have stopped on their walks to see what we’re up to next.”

Holly, who runs the Holly Hops Small Animal Boarding and dog walking business, insists she still has plenty of ideas up her sleeve to keep going.

The mum-of-two, age 48, added: “We’ve had the bears dressed up as everything from binmen to a wedding party – so the possibilities are endless.

“I’m getting the kids involved and trying to plan early what I’m doing for the next few days ahead.

“It’s helping to bring a bit of light relief to the situation.”

Holly also hopes to hold a special collection at one day’s display in aid of the Whiteleys Retreat.
