Everyone's familiar with the "you'd look good in a bin bag" phrase.
Now one mum has taken it to a new extreme and, having been told this by her best friend, decided to test the theory out.
Ahead of a planned night out, Lisa Barnes, 38, from Newcastle, proudly sported her BLD (bin liner dress) to pal Michelle Cox's house for pre-drinks.
A few days earlier while on a shopping trip, Michelle made the "you'd look good in a bin bag" comment in passing.
Lisa decided to rise to the challenge and fashioned a stylish wraparound dress out of a Poundland bin liner.

As you can see, the full-time mum did an amazing job.
Resourceful Lisa absolutely incorporated a flattering v-neck and front panel and held the look together with a belt.
Michelle was completely taken aback when Lisa turned up, and after bursting out into laughter said: "I knew you were up to something, I love it."

Lisa said: "Michelle's face when she saw it on Saturday was brilliant, she couldn't believe it.
'"She started laughing and said I was crazy. I didn't stay in the dress long as it was hot and sticking to me because I was sweating.
"After a few minutes I told her 'I need to get upstairs and get out of this.'"

Lisa wasn't the only person to sport the dress.
A hilarious 46-second video shows Lisa's 16-year-old son Michael Barnes modelling the 'dress' and flamboyantly posing in front of the mirror declaring 'I'm going to rock up to prom like this'.
