Frying pans can quickly lose their shine as they pick up scorch marks and food stains from daily use.
For many, the sparkling silver underside starts to appear rusty brown in colour and, with no amount elbow grease making a difference, the pans can seem destined for the bin.
But one mum who wasn't ready to splash out on new kitchenware found a brilliant alternative to breathe new life into an old pan - and it only set her back 89p.
Sharing her method and results on the popular Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group Facebook page, the post racked up more than 1,000 likes and hundreds of comments by other members blown away by the transformation.
Posting before and after snaps of her pan, she wrote: "Ok it's not fantastic - can't afford a new frying pan and my one desperately needed a clean.
"Nothing would work on it apart from The Pink Stuff - 89p in Home Bargains - and I have a sort of clean frying pan."
She added that it wasn't an easy job, as she also had to use a blunt knife to chip off bigger marks, but she was delighted with the final result.
One replied: "That’s absolutely brilliant!"
Another wrote: "Wow!!! You did a fantastic job, you must have been doing that for ages."
Others raved about The Pink Stuff, a product championed by cleaning guru Mrs Hinch, who boasts more than three million followers on Instagram.
One said: "I used the paste for my pans and it was fantastic, they came up brand new. Also used it for my white oven dish - was excellent."
A second added: "I have cleaned today with The Pink Stuff paste - an iron cast casserole dish that was badly burnt yesterday by my boyfriend.
