Mum transforms small bungalow into stunning five bed home that even has a gym

A mum of two has lifted the lid on how she turned a small two-bedroom bungalow into a dream five-bedroom home - complete with gym.

Georgina Russell, from Cornwall, spent £128,000 on the stunning renovation - in which the only things to survive from the original house were the structural walls.

"We now have a five-bedroom property with utility room, master suite, bathroom, entrance hall and open plan kitchen dining living room," Georgina who shared the transformation on her Instagtam page Life at Number 17 , told Femail

Her stunning renovation was so impressive that people on Facebook were left "mind-blown" with many refusing to accept it was even the same house.

Georgina said the refurbishment, combined with planning her wedding last year to husband Tom, a designer, "was quite possibly the most stressful time of [their] lives".

But the finished effect more than made up for the stress.

The house was completely re-modelled with floor-to-ceiling windows brought in and clutter taken out.

The small, dark rooms were combined to create open, flowing spaces full of light.

Andthe work didn't stop there.

"The garden was so overgrown," Georgina said. "There was even a car hidden in the drive that you could not see."

As well as updating, they increased their space with a wrap-around flat roof extension and turned the garage into two downstairs bedrooms.

The garden was remodelled, sheds built for storage and the driveway widened to make it big enough for two cars at once.

Inside, the rooms features a minimalist style to emphasise the light and space now available.

"What a spectacular job. It’s so beautiful. I would never have guessed it was the same house," one commentator wrote on Facebook.

A second added: "I can’t cope with your house. It’s just absolutely mind blowing."

A further wrote: "OMG! What an amazing space you have created. You must be exhausted? Time to sit with your feet up and take what you have achieved."
