Mum transforms home into Stranger Things Halloween 'spooktacular' for just £100

A mum has transformed her house into the 'Upside Down' with an incredible Stranger Things Halloween display - that only cost £100. Louise Edelstein is known for going all-out with decorations at her St Helens home, with this year's display based on her favourite TV show.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, the 32-year-old said: "People come from all over and last year we did a huge Jeepers Creepers installation. We were a bit stuck this year, but I absolutely love Stranger Things."

Taking inspiration from the hit Netflix series, Louise and her partner Vinny Towler built their own Vecna and Demogorgan, with the garden scene also featuring a creepy grandfather clock and Will Byers 'missing' posters.

She said: "It's really, really big this year. Everyone is already saying they don't know how we're going to top this."

Vinny is tasked with building the installations, with the couple doing most things from scratch and on a budget. This year's show-stopper cost just £100.

Louise said: "We've got mannequins and skeletons and we've had to build around those. We use insulation foam and spray paint.

"We've burnt our hands a lot gluing everything together! We've recycled a lot of stuff and Vinny's mum brings a lot.

"We also got a load of bubble wrap and foam for free on Facebook. The only thing we actually bought this year was the Vecna mask."

People come from across the region to admire Louise and Vinny's work, driving over from Liverpool and even catching the train from Manchester to take pictures and admire the couple's creativity. Louise said: "I love Halloween.

"A few years ago I just went crazy with the decorations and so many people were commenting one it. It just escalated really."

The couple have four children between them but not everyone is a fan. Louise said: "My daughter is a bit embarrassed.

"She's in college and they all talk about the house in high school. I'm sure she loves it really!"
