Meeting your baby on an ultrasound scan is incredibly emotional. If these scans weren't meaningful enough for parents, a pregnant woman was brought to tears after she received a shocking surprise at her 20-week ultrasound.
Mum-to-be Rachel Connelly shared her emotional reaction to TikTok after she set sight on her baby making a loving gesture. Taking to the popular video-streaming service, Rachel's growing baby boy made a hand movement, which signified 'I love you'.
In her video, which has surpassed a whopping 800,000 views since posting, Rachel explained how the special gesture was incredibly meaningful to herself and her family.
Rachel demonstrated the movement in question, which included her putting her middle and ring finger down.
The mum-to-be explained: "So, growing up my dad always did this, or if he was on a phone call and we were leaving he'd always do it.
"It's pretty common, but our whole family does this - anytime we're leaving we wouldn't say 'I love you' we would just do that."
She continued: "I had my 20-week anatomy scan today and I don't want to make a big deal out of nothing, but it literally looked like he did [the sign] in the scan.
"I don't know if it's because I'm emotional but it literally made me cry.
Captioning the post, Rachel admitted: "He was either saying 'I love you' or 'rock on'."
Flocking to the comment section, TikTok viewers were in awe of the beautiful gesture - and assured the mum-to-be that the hand movement was intentional.
One TikToker user gushed: "100% he did that. That is adorable. Please frame that!!"
