Mum thought 'huge' snake in bathroom was a kids' toy

A mum was left shocked after she discovered a ‘huge’ snake in her bathroom when she was putting her kids to bed.

Kayleigh Ball, 33, was alerted by her children who spotted a brown and white snake in the middle of her bathroom floor at 7pm on Monday, March 7. The mum of four, from Norris Green, said she “s*** herself” and was clueless as to how the creature managed to get into her house as all the windows and doors were closed, the Liverpool Echo reports.

The 33-year-old said: "It was bed time and I took the kids up to bed at around half seven when one of them started shouting 'it's a snake in the bathroom'.

"When I saw it I told them it was just a toy. I moved it lightly with my foot and it didn't move. When my kid turned on the bathroom light, it started moving and I s*** myself. It's skinny but it's huge.

"You find spiders and flies in your house, not a f*****g snake."

Kayleigh closed the bathroom door and placed down a towel, covering the small gap between the door and the floor, before comforting her children and putting them to bed. By the time she went back into the bathroom she saw the snake go behind the back of her toilet.

She continued: "I saw it go behind the toilet and I haven't seen it since. I've since read they are attracted to dark places.

"I had to get a bath and I must have set a new world record for the quickest bath and hair wash ever. I was constantly checking the floor and the water to make sure the snake didn't come back."

Kayleigh said she feels "on edge" after finding the snake and she will have trouble sleeping until it is gone.

She said: "I'm going to have to call the council on Tuesday. My palms will be sweating until I know this snake is gone. I literally have no idea where it has come from and I don't know if it's venomous."
