Mum teaches teen daughter brutal 3am lesson about reality of having a baby

Exhausted and cradling a baby with one arm while she rubs her temple with her free hand, Olivia Cole Galloway could be any new mum .

However, the baby in question here is William, an interactive robot whom Olivia had been tasked with looking after for the weekend as part of her Early Childhood Education assignment.

William may not be an actual human baby , but he was far from a doll too.

Olivia's mum, Lawren, captured the image of her slumped and defeated daughter after a particularly challenging night - which she absolutely refused to help with.

In a Facebook post , Lawren wrote: "Meet William. He's Olivia’s interactive baby assignment for her Early Childhood Education Class.

Olivia found it a very testing experience (Facebook)

"Now, meet Olivia with William. She's had him since Friday night. She is absolutely exhausted and ready to quit the class and give William back. (Maybe even throw him back) It's definitely been a learning experience.

"My favourite moment so far is when she came into my room last night around 3 am. She was crying real tears while feeding him his bottle. She was begging me to help her because she just wanted to get some sleep."

Lawren's response to her daughter's tears of exhaustion? "Yeah, no."

While Olivia ultimately failed the assignment, it's been an important learning curve for her.

Olivia is now much more hands-on with her baby sister (Facebook)

"I think she appreciates me a little bit more now!" the mum-of-four told 9Honey

Having had a new baby herself recently, Lawren is now getting more help from Olivia.

"She’s asked to hold her new sister more and has even offered to hold her so that I could shower, or eat or do things that required two hands," she added.
