The 23-year-old from Hartlepool has over 107,000 followers on TikTok and her video of her taking down the decorations has had 2.5 million views and 259,000 likes.

Explaining in the video, Georgia told her followers the reason for the quick turnaround was because her daughter's birthday was on Boxing Day, December 26, reports The Mirror.

She also posted a video of herself decorating the same space where the Christmas decorations once were, with birthday balloons and banners.

Georgia explained in a later video that she took the decorations down so her daughter could have a "normal" birthday.

She said: "If my birthday was the day after Christmas, I could think of nothing worse than having the tree up. That's why I take it down just to try and make it as normal as possible for her.

"Christmas and then birthday the day after is too close so it's just our own family tradition to take the tree down Christmas night ready for her birthday tomorrow."

Many commented on the videos, praising Georgia for making the effort for her daughter's birthday. One person said: "This is so lovely that you are making your child’s birthday about her and not Christmas. I personally love it."

Another added: "I love this, think it’s really thoughtful that you bring Christmas celebrations to an end to celebrate her birthday."

Other parents also commented about how they take down or delay putting up Christmas decorations so they can celebrate their children's birthdays.

However, some did not think the big decor change was necessary. One said: "I would want my birthday with the Christmas tree up."

Another said: "Whyyyyyyyyy did you take the tree down? I would've loved for it to stay up."
