One mum has come up with a genius solution to get rid of enormous creepy crawlies hiding in every nook and cranny.
As cold nights draw in, spiders are on the prowl for warm and dry spots in our homes.
House spiders are currently in mating season and can have a leg span of up to 10cm - the size of a human hand.
One mum has shared her simple solution for eradicating the eight-legged creatures for good - and it only costs £10.
The trick involved using peppermint, which is known to repel spiders.
The mum posted on the Family Lockdown Tips & Ideas Facebook group to share her hack.
She said the only things you need are a diffuser and a bottle of peppermint essential oil - and she hasn't spotted a single guest creeping around since, The Sun reports.
She wrote: "Can I just say if you haven't already tried this then you really must now.
"Do you hate spiders coming into your house? I have the best solution ever!!
"£10.75 for a 30ml bottle of peppermint oil from Holland and Barrett, couple of drops in my diffuser and no more spiders."
She told fellow Facebook users to keep the diffuser in a safe place out of reach of children and animals.
Naturally, her nifty trick went down a storm with others - and people commented saying they could not wait to try.
One said: “no more being stuck on the couch.”
Another added: “Guess who’s bought some peppermint oil and a diffuser.”
