Mum stuns Martin Lewis after telling him she won baby in competition

A mum has told money expert Martin Lewis that she won her son in a competition.

Katrina Stevenson is obsessed with entering competitions and has won more than £20,000 in prizes.

But in Wednesday night's episode of Extreme Savers, she revealed to host Martin Lewis that the best thing she'd ever won in a contest was her little boy, Dylan, two.

The 31-year-old, who is from the Isle of Wight, explained that it was crazy, but true.

She told Martin: "My best win, it evens sounds crazy saying it, is my son.

"I won free IVF treatment abroad in Norway. We were trying for nine years, we had four losses, we were struggling to save for IVF.

"So I put all of my energy into trying to find if there were any IVF competitions, I was doing it for a good couple of weeks and then I came across an advert in a magazine."

After seeing the advert, Katrina entered just weeks later was delighted to find out she had won.

Along with her partner, Katrina flew to Norway to receive treatment however it was unsuccessful.

Amazingly the couple were allowed to return for a second time so doctors could implant a frozen embryo they'd had stored there.

Katrina said before she got a positive pregnancy test, she already knew it had worked. She added: "It was strange because I just knew, I kept saying, 'It’s worked, I’m convinced of it'.

"After nine years you get used to looking at tests and thinking 'is it?' but it was so definite.

"I let the team know at work, everything was so emotional, they were so invested and it was such a beautiful experience. It felt like we all made a baby, it was so lovely."

Martin said: "Comping isn’t just doing the odd competition, it’s about systematically spending hours a week maximising the number you can enter in the minimum amount of time, often by using online forums where people share all of their tips and techniques."

Viewers weighed in on Katrina's amazing story on Twitter.

One said: "Imagine winning your baby. Crazy but incredible."

Another added: "What a lovely story! #ExtremeSavers."
