Mum sparks parking debate by sharing picture of pushchair by cars

A mum has sparked debate after sharing a picture of a car blocking her path as she tried to get home with her child online.

Debbie Hayden was heading down Malvern Road, Cheltenham, when she found the red Audi parked in her way - and she did not want to let it go.

She took a photograph of the vehicle stopping her from getting her pushchair past and published it online, reports Gloucestershire Live.

As the image she posted on Facebook shows, there was no room for her to get the pushchair through.

The car had been parked on double yellow lines and so close to another parked car that there was no way she could get by.

She said someone emerged from a property at the site to move the car, after she managed to attract their attention.

But she was not impressed with what had happened and added she felt the driver should get an instant ban and have to take extended driving lessons to regain their licence.

Reaction on the page was mixed.

Some people have left comments sympathising with Debbie, saying the car driver was “totally in the wrong” and that the parking was “awful”.

But others felt Debbie could simply have crossed the road.

She hit back at them, by pointing out that the road was very busy at the time.
