Mum sparks outrage after admitting to 'smacking' her kids when they won't listen

A mum has sparked uproar online over her controversial parenting style which includes 'smacking' her kids when they don't listen and giving them chores.

Brittney Coble, who hails from the US, has five children aged two, four, six, eight and ten.

She's divided opinion on TikTok as some mums were upset by how she treated her children and begged her to stop, but others didn't see an issue and said they do the same.

''So I've seen a trend on TikTok where mums are talking about things they do with their kids that most of parents wouldn't agree with, and considering most TikTok mums hate me already, I thought why not?" Brittney began.

''One, as you can already guess, is I whop my kids.

"I always give them a verbal warning, I don't always expect them to listen the first time I ask, but if I have to ask two or three times and I've already explained what you need to do and you're just blatantly ignoring me, you're gonna get your a** whopped.

''That's just the way it is."

Brittney then opened up on the chores she gives her little ones to do.

''The two and four-year-old get a little distracted but I give them little chores [...] and I kind of just redirect them if they get a little sidetracked," she said.

''But my older kids - they have big-kid chores. They scrub the toilet, take the trash out, do the dishes - they contribute.

''And lastly, I am raising my boys as boys and my girl as a girl - no questions asked.''

One shocked user replied: ''So, you don’t know how to properly teach your kids and instil wisdom in them without using violence. nice.''

''Please stop hitting your children," begged another.

''Abuse will not teach children respect, it will teach them fear,'' added a third.

''There are ways to receive respect from other human beings without hurting them.''

But others agreed with Brittney's approach, as one applauded: "Omg finally a parent that actually parents.''

Another gushed: "Yasss queen!! My kids are 3 nearly 4 (boy), 1 nearly 2 (girl) and a little 6-month-old.

''The older two have chores when baby walks she will too."

Only 62 countries in the world, including Scotland and Wales, have banned smacking - and England is one of four European countries where parents can legally use physical punishment if it is "reasonable".

But if the physical punishment leaves a mark, such as a scratch or a bruise, parents can be prosecuted for assault.
