Mum sparks fierce debate after admitting she uses family's sick bowl as baking bowl

A mum has sparked a fierce discussion online after revealing that her family's sick bowl and baking bowl are one and the same. Sarah Turner, who writes under the name of The Unmumsy Mum, became known for sharing honest posts about parenthood - and her latest reveal is no different, the MEN reports.

Attracting over 4,000 comments in less than 24 hours, the post reads: "My kids have just discovered that the family sick bowl and the cake mix bowl are one and the same. In my defence, this was also the case when I was growing up, but now I’ve said it out loud, I realise I need to break the cycle. I won’t be taking any further questions."

Parents responded in their droves, with many saying the same thing applies in their home. Alongside an array of shocked-faced emojis, one person penned: "This has made me laugh out loud - it really is a family tradition passed down from generation to generation." Echoing their comments, someone else said: "My daughter asked this too the other day! I don't have room for a ‘sick’ bowl! It can be washed up fine!"

While a third added: "The totally 'normal' thing that nobody wants to admit they do! I do hold my hands up and say it's actually been used for vomit more than it has for cakes!" Others, however, said they were left horrified by the reveal.

One said: "How disgusting! I give my kids a reusable bag from Tesco - drop it into a bin bag and into the wheelie bin when they are done and adults are grown enough to make it to the toilet." Another said: "After reading all these comments I'm never eating at anyone's House again or eating from the school fetes."

Others revealed that their family's sick bowl has other uses. "We use the mixing bowl for everything too," one said. "Cakes, sick, salad." Another added: "Ours is the salad bowl. When we have visitors, kids delight in pointing this out every time."
