A mum was left feeling less than impressed after her husband gave her a Valentine's Day card.
Despite his efforts to choose a card that featured a teddy bear, love hearts and a sweet message, it also included a glaring error.
Instead of the card addressing her as his 'wife', it said "to my handsome fiancé" in gold calligraphy along the top, reports Daily Star.
The anonymous woman admitted that despite the fact she knows how "last-minute" he can be, she was still disappointed.
She took to Mumsnet to say: "My husband is a typical last-minute card and present buyer, but this really takes the biscuit.
"His excuses – it was the last one left in Tesco Express, Asda was too busy and he had forgotten his glasses."
But the woman felt that her husband's excuses weren't good enough, as she said he could have easily picked up a card at an earlier date rather than leaving it until the last minute.
She added: "Excuse for not buying one earlier – he is recovering from his Covid jab (he had it on Thursday).
"Excuse for not buying one before then – none."
Since being posted, the mum has received numerous comments from users who agreed it wasn't good enough, as one said: "Yeah that is pretty c***. Wrong on all levels!"
Another agreed: "Oh my! Yeah, I would have rather he didn’t bother. That’s just rude. It would be funny if you're not in the situation."
A third wrote: "I think I'd rather have had a homemade card or some kind of love voucher than one calling me a bloke."
However, others saw the funny side of the situation.
One person wrote: "Lol yeah that's pretty c*** but I would probably just laugh and take the mickey for at least the next year, and expect him to pay for a takeaway tonight.
"I personally wouldn't get really cross, but it depends on your relationship and how seriously you take Valentine's day."
Another joked: "Hahaha! Did he go self-checkout? Bless him, God does love a trier.
"I wouldn’t be disappointed but may use it as an excuse for extra attention on Valentine’s night. A long massage first would be nice for example."
But one person who thought she was being unreasonable wrote: "He got you a card. You know he is a last-minute present buyer. Lower your expectations or tell him well in advance what you expect."
And another added: "At least your partner actually got you a card."
