Mum slammed for telling woman to cover up bikini at beach because her sons were 'staring'

A mum has been fiercely criticised after she approached a woman on a beach and demanded she covered up because she caught her sons "staring" at her.

Aurea, from Mexico, was filming a TikTok video at Freedom Lake in New York when she was confronted by a stranger over her choice of swimwear.

The moment was captured on camera after the woman interrupted Aurea's filming and has since had more than 3.1 million views - with many telling the mum to "raise her boys better" instead.

In the video, the unidentified woman approached Aurea and points to say: "You see those group of boys over there? Those are my boys.

"They're staring at your a** which is hanging out in the middle of a public place. Do you need a pair of shorts? Because I have an extra pair."

When Aurea asks what she means, she says: "I mean get your a** covered, that's what I mean. Thank you."

Confused by her demand, Aurea asks: "Is there a rule to that?" and the stranger snaps back: "Yeah there is, it's called nudity. You can’t be nude on a beach like this. It's a public place."

Aurea claims she later checked with workers at the park, who confirmed there was nothing wrong with the swimsuit she was wearing.

At the end of the clip, Aurea includes an arrow to point out a group of people lingering in the background staring at her while she filmed her video.

She shared it on TikTok with the caption: "Let's educate our family to start there."

It racked up more than 7,000 comments, as one said: "Why she can't teach her boys not to stare."

A second said: "Tell her to control her boys! Why does no one tell them to raise their boys better."

But some argued: "It's a cute suit and you should be proud you can rock it. However, I agree there is a place to wear something like that. Not a family park."
