Mum slammed for admitting she smashed her son's Xbox during furious 'mommy moment'

It's no secret that kids can be hard work and infuriating as hell.

Sometimes they are the perfect little angels, but then there are the days when they just make you want to scream.

One mum recently found herself in a situation involving the latter, but instead of taking the time to cool down and deal with her frustration, she decided to lash out.

As such, she ended up smashing her son's Xbox gaming console in what she calls a "mommy moment".

The anonymous parent from the US shared a post on social media explaining what she had done and asking for some advice a month after the incident as she now felt bad about it.

A screenshot of her post has since been uploaded to Reddit's r/trashy forum where it has garnered a lot of attention.

The mum wrote: "Okay y'all. I had a 'mommy moment' about a month ago and smashed my son's Xbox.

"Love me or hate me for it.

"The question is... does anyone have one they're willing to sell? Hindsight being 20 20 and all, now I feel bad.

"Help a mama out."

More than 1,000 people responded to the Reddit post, but they weren't very sympathetic.

One person said: "Sounds more like a toxic parent moment. Teaching kids it's okay to pitch a fit and be terrible to other people as long as you apologize for it."

Another replied: "Yeah she doesn't feel sorry. What's happened is without the Xbox occupying the child she has realised she has to actually parent, meaning she has only made her life more difficult."

A third commented: "I have something for her. A tip: No punishment should involve permanent destruction of things. Take it away. Breaking something just shows how little personal self-control you have."

Others began sharing the worst things their mums had done when they were kids.

"My mom's 'mommy moment' was throwing a VCR at my head then getting more mad at me for 'breaking the VCR'," posted a fourth.

Someone else added: "When I was little, my dad got mad over a spill on the carpet. He broke our Super Mario World SNES cartridge in his fit. He felt bad and pieced it back together and wrapped the shit out of it with electrical tape. It worked perfectly lol."
