Mum 'sick to pit of stomach' after syringe left on garden wall in Finglas estate

Residents of a Finglas estate were horrified after a syringe was left on a garden wall near where the homeowner's children play.

The shocked local said she was "sick to the pit of my stomach" after she shared a picture of the needle on social media last week.

And she urged other parents to make sure their kids are "extra careful" and are aware of the dangers of picking up needles.

She said: "It's very sad that this is on your doorstep so close to where you think is safe for our kids to play."

Another stunned mum slammed the person who left the needle in easy reach of kids, saying it is totally "out of line".

There were calls for additional garda patrols in the area after a Finglas mum and her kids had a lucky escape over the weekend when thugs threw a firework through her porch door, causing a fire.

The woman and her family were left "shook up" following the shocking incident, saying: "Was like a bomb striking my home and if i hadn't been there my house would have burnt down. And children in the house too."
