Mum shows off huge pregnancy bump at 23 weeks - as doctors say it could double

Going through pregnancy with one baby is tough as it is - but for those mums who have carried twins, triplets, or more, making it through the nine months can take a huge toll on your body.

That feeling is one TikTok user Alex Galindo knows all too well, as she's currently pregnant with triplets and is already sporting a huge baby bump at 23 weeks, and she still has another 13 weeks to go.

In a video on her account, @wemadetriplets, Alex showed off her impressive bump and admitted that she's been told by her doctors that she could even double in size before she's ready to give birth.

She said: "23 weeks pregnant with triplets. 13 weeks remaining! Doctors say I might double in size."

And in the comments, Alex answered several questions about her pregnancy - including revealing that she's expecting three girls, two of which will be identical.

She explained: "The girls have officially taken over my body. I'm having all girls - two identical and one fraternal."

When another commenter estimated the mum - who already has a four-year-old son - would actually only have six weeks left before she's ready to pop, Alex insisted she hopes she can stay pregnant for longer to reduce the risk of her triplets needing to head to the newborn intensive care unit (NICU) when they're born.

The mum was told her bump could still double in size (@wemadetriplets/TikTok)

She said: "I hope longer. The longer they stay in, the less time they’ll be in the NICU."

Alex has been updating her TikTok followers on her pregnancy journey regularly, and in an earlier video, she explained that she and her partner had conceived the triplets after sleeping together once following a break in their relationship.

She explained in the clip: "When you sleep together one time after a five-month break and end up with triplets."

But commenters on the video were thrilled for the couple, who recently rekindled their romance, as many of them left positive messages congratulating the pair on the news.

One person said: "Wow, congratulations people!"

While another added: "I'm a triplet! Congratulations mama."

And a third wrote: "The universe really wanted you two to be together."
