Mum shares Tesco birthday hack that transforms cake for daughter in seconds

What's a birthday without cake? Am I right?!

The birthday cake can be the pièce de résistance of a celebration, so picking the right one is important.

One mum has shared how she was recently searching for a birthday cake for her daughter's special day but was struggling to find exactly what she wanted.

Laura Richardson was on the hunt for a chocolate cake shaped like a dog, but could only find a sloth cake in Tesco.

But the creative mum soon realised she could work her magic on the sweet treat to turn it into the ideal dessert for a party.

Laura came up with a clever hack to turn the cake from a sloth, into a dog - and it worked perfectly.

She shared a look at the transformation on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook page.

"My daughter is obsessed with dogs, but finding a chocolate cake for her was quite difficult," she explained.

"However, the sloth cake at Tesco very easily transforms."

The mum simply removed the sloth's icing paws and placed them on the top of the cake to make ears for a dog.

The post went viral, garnering over 22,000 likes and more than 900 comments.

One person said: "Amazing!!! I have a dog-obsessed daughter who needs a birthday cake next Thursday! Great idea."

Another wrote: "Looks so much cuter the way u have rearranged it. What a great idea!"

A third replied: "Great job looks fantastic. Sometimes a little imagination goes a long way."

Someone else added: "That looks really good, doesn't it. Well done fab mum for pulling it out the bag and doing an easy transformation quick fix bet your daughter loved the cake looks really nice. Hope that she had a really lovely day and enjoyed celebrating."
