Mum shares shower mobile phone hack for teenage sons - but people say it's gross

A mum has shared a clever hack which allows teen sons take their phones in the shower without damaging them - but other parents say the tip is 'gross'.

The mum was worried her teengers were going to break their expensive mobile phones after they refused to leave them outside the bathroom while they washed.

Concerned the phones would end up being dropped in the water, the savvy mum came up with a simple trick to keep them on dry land - by using phone holders meant for inside the car.

The Aussie mum attached the holder to her bathroom tiles and shared her tip on Facebook, reports The Mirror.

She said: "My teenage boys would ALWAYS take their phones into the shower with them. No matter how many times I told them not to," the mum wrote.

"I was forever telling them they were going to drop it and I wasn’t getting them a new one. Until I come up with this fab idea."

She added: "Went to my favourite shop and got some car phone holders. Yep, that did the trick."

Despite her ingenuity she was met with some negativity from parents who thought the move was questionable.

Hundreds of people commented on the post, with many sharing their disapproval of the  trick  - due to what the boys were likely doing with their phones in the bathroom.

One person asked: "Have you questioned why they need to take their phones in the shower?"

A second said: "You have just set up hands-free porn stations in your shower."

"Easy way to take nudes, thanks mum," added a third.

However not everyone agreed.

Someone else commented: "Everyone is just poking fun and having a giggle, we were all teenagers once and know exactly what that stand is getting used for."

Another replied: "Who cares if they take their phones in the shower, LoL. She's come up with a smart idea to keep an expensive piece of equipment safer than it would be otherwise."

Others dubbed the mum's hack "brilliant" and "clever".
