Mum shares regret after giving her daughters confusingly similar names

A mum has shared her regret after choosing to give her children confusingly similar names, which she says she's always getting mixed up. Mum-of-two, Amanda Sarah, opted to give her two young daughters names that both began with the letter K - Karah and Kinah, but has unfortunately since come to regret her decision.

Amanda, 27, admits she isn't quite sure why she settled on the names she did, which have brought her no end of confusion, and now wonders why on Earth she ever thought it would be a good idea to give both her girls names beginning with the exact same letter.

Amanda shared her story in response to a TikTok video by comedian Gabby Lamb, who asked parents: “I have a question for parents, do you ever regret what you named your kid?”

Taking to TikTok, where she goes by the username @amandasarahh, Amanda admitted: "I do regret naming my kids with the same first letter, why would I do that? Honestly, I don’t know who came up with the idea, but I’m sitting there calling my kids different names - Karah, Kinah, Karah, Kinah."

Her decision has left her with some regret (tiktok/amandasarahh)

She added: “Like, I looked at my mum when she called me a different name, like ‘how could you forget my name mum?’, and here I am doing the same thing. Who came up with that idea? Please tell me."

The hilariously self-deprecating clip has since given plenty of Amanda's followers a good laugh, with many fellow parents relating all too well to her frequent muddling up.

One amused mum chuckled: "I have two 'R' kid names. Worst idea ever."

Another commented: "My mum is Gloria... All my children start with 'G'. No regrets!"

A third sympathised: "Girl, my name is Lindy and I named my daughter Indie. It’s a hot mess sometimes."
