Mum shares little-known method to remove stains from baby clothes - and it's free to do

For such tiny humans, babies sure do make a big mess.

New mums have to battle a lot of stains on babies' clothing, but perhaps the most stubborn of all of them is poo.

No one tells you when you're pregnant just how many loads of washing you'll be doing every day. Otherwise, you'll end up chucking countless baby grows in the bin and spending a fortune replacing them every time there's a stubborn stain.

But there's good news for mums as one parent claims to have figured out a simple one-step trick for getting some of the harshest stains out of your baby's clothes - and it doesn't involve paying for any fancy powders or detergents.

The mum shared an image of what the baby grow looked like before - covered in tomato sauce (Facebook)
And after - bright white and no tomato sauce in sight (Facebook)

The ingenious mum shared her wisdom on a Facebook group Cleaning Hacks, Tips and Recommendations back in 2019 - but the trick is timeless and it costs absolutely nothing to try for yourself.

She posted an image of her little one's white onesie smothered in tomato sauce next to an "after" picture of the same item, one again a box-fresh white.

The woman explained her secret - and it's as simple as hanging any stained clothing out on the washing line in the sunshine.

It sounds too good to be true, but the mum claims it "genuinely works" and we're definitely intrigued.

She explained: "Before and after 24 hours on the line and no stain remover needed."

And it seems she's not the only one to have figured out this free stain removal hack.

Another member replied: "It genuinely works. Poo and tomato sauce stains disappear after several hours outside in strong sunshine. Don't ask how it works, it just does."

And someone else wrote: "I do this all the time and most of the time it works a treat."
