Mum shares ingenious and cheap hack to help daughter's itchy chickenpox

Watching your children suffer with chickenpox is one of the worst things about being a parent.

And we'll do anything we possibly can to help them, whether that's trying different creams and just taking their mind off the itching.

One mum has now shared her incredible hack that could also be the answer to your's and your child's chicken pox woes.

Sharing the trick on Facebook she said that the 'difference was unbelievable' and there was 'no scratching for over an hour, GloucestershireLive reports.

Clare Jenkin went to the doctors with her daughter Regan as the little girl was suffering with a nasty bout of the childhood illness.

But what the doctor suggested is surprising.

In her post, which has been shared over 6000 times on Facebook, she said: "Anyone who’s kiddies pick up chicken pox I cannot recommend this enough!!

"Reags went to the docs today and we were advised to use Head and Shoulders CLASSIC as a bubble bath to sooth the spots."

The popular shampoo seemed to make all the difference.

Clare continued: "The difference is unbelievable! Over an hour without a single scratch or moan! No more angry red spots.

"Hopefully this helps anyone else who’s at they're wits end with scratching children."

Chickenpox is common and affects mostly children, although you can get it at any age, it starts with red spots and can appear anywhere on the body.

The spots then fill with fluid, the blisters can then burst, they might spread or stay in a small area.

Then the spots scab over and more blisters might appear.

Other side effects of chickenpox include a high temperature of 38C, aches and pains, generally feeling unwell and a loss of appetite.

Parents commented on Clare's post thanking her for the tip saying it had helped them too.

"Thanks for sharing, learn something everyday, would never of thought in using that, what a difference it has made too x" said one.

Another seconded this saying: "What a difference, that's amazing. Glad she's getting some relief from the itch x"
