Mum shares her amazing £60 transformation of daughters' bedroom

As children get older, no matter how well they get along, having them share rooms can be a problem.

But mum-of-three Hannah Nicholls found a way to keep her girls happy and totally transform their bedroom for just £60.

Up until now her daughters, aged two and 11, had been sharing a room and using a bunk bed - and the age gap had become "a nightmare".

So, working with her partner Ryan, Hannah took action.

“I swapped rooms with them, decorated it and upcycled all the furniture,” the 30-year-old from Penzance told LatestDeals.co.uk .

On a tight budget she started scouring the internet for deals, heading to Facebook marketplace, eBay and B&M.

“I'm in college training to be a hairdresser so money is tight, so this was all done on a very tight budget of about £60,” she explained.

Hannah took the bunk bed apart - meaning each girl got their own space - and found cubed bookshelves to divide the room while still letting in some light.

“I came up with the idea as there’s only one window so the cubes still let light in, plus this gives them each their own bed and space,” Hannah said.

“The unit cost me £10 from Facebook marketplace. My partner Ryan fixed them up for us, with all the furniture painted and waxed."

She then went to work on the soft furnishings.

“The bedding is from Next but I also bought it from Facebook marketplace. The canopies were from eBay at £20 each, and the chandelier was from B&M at £10 using the scanning app,” she said.

And the better news is her girls love it.

“The girls are made up with it,” Hannah said.

“My oldest, Lacey-Mae starts secondary school on Monday, so she's happy that her friends can come over without all her sister’s toys all over the place, and my youngest Evelyn is now sleeping in her own bed instead of climbing the bunk beds all night!

“Plus, the bunkbeds used to stop Lacey from getting to sleep as Evelyn was in and out of her bed all night.”
