Mum shares hack to keep hob clean for a week - but some think it's more hassle

Doing the same household tasks day in and day out can be pretty tiresome and if there were a way to keep things clean and avoid doing these jobs, we'd jump at it.

And we thought most others might as well, but this doesn't seem to be the case.

One woman recently shared a life hack she had come up with in the kitchen, in order to prevent herself from having to wipe over her hob every time she cooked.

The unnamed mum, from Australia, shared her trick on Facebook where it garnered a lot of attention, as reported by Fabulous.

She put tin foil over the hob so she wouldn't have to clean it (Facebook)

Posting in a cleaning group, the parent shared a snap of her hob, which she had covered in tinfoil.

The tinfoil had been placed underneath the gas burners.

Alongside the picture, she wrote: "This is how I keep it for one week. So I don't have to clean every day."

Some people thought her tip was clever and helpful but there were a few who branded the whole thing "lazy" and thought the foil made the hob look "ugly".

One person said: "Looks like more work than just wiping down sorry."

Another replied: "Yeah great, so it always looks ugly. It's the same deal when people keep plastic covers on their sofas."

A third commented: "Imagine being that lazy."

Others asked if she put sheets down on her floor to avoid hoovering, while some thought it was a waste of foil.

But not everyone was quite so negative.

Someone else posted: "I do the same! Don't listen. Do whatever you need to do to get through.'

A different user added: "If it works for you, don't worry about what everyone else thinks."
