Mum shares 'genius' hack so you never run out of milk for tea

There is nothing worse than opening up the fridge, dying for a cup of tea, only to come to the sad realisation that the milk has run out.

Popping to the shop is not only time consuming, it's a general pain for anyone looking to wind down with a hot brew.

But one smart mum has now shared the best tip for those who just can not spare the time to pop out - and it has left tea drinkers "shook".

The viral TikTok hack has been shared by a clever parenting influencer, known as @twinklparents, who admits that "running out of milk when you're gasping for a cuppa is the worst".

The video shows fresh milk being transferred into a freezer bag using a spill-proof funnel, the Mirror reports.

She uses ice bags rather than trays to avoid that "freezer tainted smell (@twinklparents/TikTok/MirrorOnline)

Explaining that she personally prefers bags to trays so as to avoid that "freezer tainted smell", the parenting expert then pops the pack in the freezer, leaving her with little milk ice cubes for cuppa emergencies.

Showing just how it works, the nifty TikToker can be seen adding a milk ice cube into her brew, remarking: "It may not be as hot as you'd like, but it's still a good cuppa".

One follower commented that they were "both intrigued and shook", adding that they "love the ingenuity".

Another declared it to be a "cracking idea", while a third proclaimed the vlogger to be nothing short of a "genius".

A perfect tip for any parent who can not make the time to pop out and leave the kids (@twinklparents/TikTok/MirrorOnline)

Although there were some naysayers who advised her to "just go down the shop", the busy mum explained that sometimes it really isn't that easy when you're on your own in the house with a sleeping toddler.

In response to those who argued that this would simply just leave you with a freezing cuppa, she advised that this wasn't the case for her at all.

However, she did encourage those wanting their brew to be as warm as possible to allow the ice cube to defrost beforehand, or to simply "pop it in the microwave".
