Mum shares genius hack for de-frosting your windscreen when you're late for school run

A mum has shred a genius tip for quickly melting frozen windscreens - and the best news is you probably already have it in the cupboard.

Angela Hickling shared a video of her effortlessly wiping the ice off her car windshield using a bottle of Dr Beckman's Carpet Stain Remover.

Angela says she fills up an old bottle of carpet stain remover with warm water to wash away the ice.

Angela shared the video on Facebook even praising herself for her genius discovery.

She said: "I'm a genius. Get yourself one of these bottles, fill it with warm water and you're sorted.

"No cold hands scraping anymore and it cleans ya window screen to, the brush bit is ideal.

"I was just looking through my boyfriend's cupboard to find some sort of gadget as I really didn't want my fingers freezing off, and saw the bottle.

"I had a light bulb moment.. filled it with warm water and it worked perfectly. I was so happy."

The post quickly went viral, with more than 1.6 million views to date.

"You are a genius," responded one Facebook user.

Another said: "Nope, I would have never thought that! Honestly gonna buy one just for that reason."

Once you have the Dr Beckmans bottle you will need to ensure you thoroughly rinsed it before using it on your car.

Then you just have to fill it with warm water and watch the ice melt away. Never use boiling water as it could crack your car windscreen.
