Mum shares 'game-changing' sofa hack for keeping cushions clean

Keeping your sofa looking pristine can be tricky, especially for those of us with kids or pets around the house.

Cleaning the cushions regularly can take up a lot of time and getting them done professionally could be pricey, but one woman has discovered a "fantastic" way to keep hers looking spotless.

She shared her hack in the Facebook group Cleaning tips and tricks, where people come together to share their cleaning problems and help each other out with solutions.

Sofa woes are one of the most common themes amongst the group, with many people searching for ways to keep them looking fresh.

So when Alison Brown posted her sofa cleaning hack - which adds a fashionable touch as well- hundreds of commenters were quick to praise her for her thinking.

In the post, she said: "Finally found the perfect sofa seat cushion covers… a teddy fleece fitted single sheet."

She also joked: "Wish I’d thought of this before!" alongside a laughing emoji.

She snapped a picture of her stylish sofa complete with the teddy fleece and cushions, as well as her bulldog Pebbles smiling in front of it.

The fitted sheet stretches to cover the entirety of the sofa cushions, protecting it from stains and pet hair - and also gives it a fresh, updated look.

People in the comments thanked Alison for her "genius" idea, with many people desperate to try it themselves.

One person said: "Genius! I’m going to try that, thank you."

While another said: "This is what I do with my dog too, its the best, so easy to keep clean and change."

One thankful person said: "Oh my goodness. That is the best idea. I have 3 dogs and looking for grey throws think I'm gonna do this. thank you for your amazing tip xx"

With many people asking where they could buy the sheet, Alison added another comment saying she bought hers on eBay, but Wilko, Asda and B&M also sell them.

But the apparent star of the post wasn't the hack, but Pebbles the dog instead.

One person said: "Didn't even notice the sofa - Just noticed the dog smiling like he was happy with whatever you did!"
