Mum shares easy way to clean filthy oven racks with household item

A cleaning-mad mum has shared her easy way to clean your oven shelves that leaves them sparkling.

We all know the struggle that comes with having to clean the oven, especially when there’s been the odd spillage.

There are very few things that can lift the tough stains left behind on the household staple, and soaking them overnight can leave behind a lot of unwanted residue.

Luckily, one mum has shared her genius cleaning tips on Instagram, reports the Mirror.

Abi’s Cleaning Space, an Instagram page with almost 30,000 followers, showed off the simple technique, using a household product you probably already have in your cupboards.

She revealed that all you need to do is fill a sink or bath with hot water, before adding the crucial ingredient of fabric softener and leaving it to soak.

Once it’s had time to work its magic, remove the shelves and the dirt should wipe away with no stress.

Abi posted a photo of her oven racks in the bath so she could give them all the treatment in one go, and wrote: "Soaking oven racks in hot water and fabric softener in the bath to release all the grime stuck to the racks."

She also included pictures, showing the silver trays caked in the black marks we all recognise from our own oven, before the incredible transformation leaving them looking like new.
