We all know how important fruit and veg are for a growing child's diet, but sometimes the preparation that goes into peeling and slicing everything into bite-sized pieces can make us wonder if it's all really worth it.
Preparing oranges - and other similar fruits such as clementines and tangerines - is often one of the biggest pains, as the citrus fruits are prone to squirting juice everywhere during the peeling process, and for young children, the segments will likely need cutting in half too.
But thanks to one mum on TikTok, you can now take all the faff out of preparing a healthy snack for your little one, as she's shared a hack that will see you serve up a peeled and sliced orange in seconds.
Brittany Roper revealed the trick in a viral video in which she simply sliced the orange through the middle, before taking each half and pushing it from the bottom to turn it "inside out" - which easily pulls the half-segments away from the orange peel.

In the video, the mum - who posts under the username @brittany_roper - used a sound from a different user which said: "Show me the life hack that you randomly saw one day that is now an unconscious standard practice in your life."
The trick seems so simple that we shouldn't need to be told that it exists - but many people in the comments were shocked that they were completely unaware of it until now.
One person commented: "Oh come on! If only I knew it was that easy."
While another said: "I'm learning more on this app than I ever did in school."
And a third posted: "My life will never be the same again."
"You have just changed my life," someone else added.
Brittany, who is from the US, also stated in the comments that the trick was "perfect for little ones" as cutting the orange down the middle means the segments are already cut into smaller pieces that are easier for little mouths to manage.
Other commenters also left other suggestions for making oranges easier to peel and even tastier.
Someone said: "Throw it in the freezer for an hour first. A lot less messy. And tastes even better!"
