A mum says she has begun to worry for her children's safety after a mystery stranger started leaving cereal boxes outside her front door.
Hengameh Shahroodi, from Amersham in Buckinghamshire, was left dumbfounded when she opened the door one weekend to discover an unopened pack of the breakfast treat in her front garden with no explanation.
After initially laughing off the strange display, she decided to get the police involved after the 'cereal offender' began striking every Saturday.
Ms Shahroodi has admitted that while she knew the three incidents weren't serious in themselves, the unexplained nature and the offender's habit of knocking on the door before fleeing had left her worried for her children, who are aged 10 and 17.
She told Bucks Free Press: "It is kind of childish, it’s not very serious but it’s upsetting because we don’t know. I’ve started worrying if I can leave kids alone,"
"First time was at 8.30pm, there was loud banging on the door and one big cereal box and a bit of milk and a spoon had been left outside.
"My husband went to the door and it was just behind the door. We thought it was a joke."
The unknown individual struck again on March 16, knocking on the door and leaving behind a large box of cereal, along with several smaller ones.
All the boxes left on the doorstep had been opened when they visited for the third time.
On this occasion, Ms Shahroodi said her husband dashed outside and saw a person running away, but couldn't be sure it was the culprit.
Police have now been involved following this most recent incident, who believe it could be classed as anti-social behaviour.
No boxes were found outside the property after the family were away on April 1.
A statement from the local police said: "Thames Valley Police is investigating a series of incidents that have occurred in Woodfield Farm on 11, 18 and 25 March in which cereal boxes have been left outside of a property.
