The post said: "Hey, just to make everyone aware I’ve just been watching tele and heard our front door handle go down and up (thank god the door was locked) anyway when my mum looked out the window there’s four lads with their hoods up, two in our front garden and two on the pavement
"Who knows what their intentions were. just be careful everyone and make sure your doors are locked! FYI it was around 1.30am on Copy Lane, Redrow estate."
People were quick to comment on the post
One person commented: "OMG glad all [are] OK xx"
Another person shared possible deterrents: "Years ago we had Homewatch which I think was at least a deterrent. Labels on lampposts and in your window, meetings with the Police and information sent out to all residents.
"Smart Water put on your personal items. Maybe something to think about."
