Mum says 'very much loved' son will be 'dearly missed' after body of 18-year-old is found

A mum has thanked the people who tried to locate her son, after police confirmed a body found this week is that of missing 18-year-old Frantisek 'Frankie' Morris.

Frankie, from Llandegfan, was reported missing on Tuesday, May 2, the day after he attended a rave at a disused quarry near Waunfawr.

North Wales Police confirmed on Thursday, June 3, that they had discovered a body in dense woodland near Caerhun on the outskirts of Bangor. They informed Mr Morris's family at the time and said they were being supported by specially trained officers. Today the force confirmed the body had now been formally identified as that of Mr Morris. His death is not being treated as suspicious.

His mum, Alice Morris, who last week made an emotional appeal to the public to help her find her "beautiful son" said: “On behalf of the family I’d like to thank everyone involved in the search for Frankie, in particular the local community. Frankie was very much loved and will be dearly missed. I would be grateful if we could now be given privacy to grieve in this difficult time.”

Chief Inspector Owain Llewellyn said: “Our thoughts are naturally with Frankie’s family. This was an extensive and prolonged search and I would like to thank everyone who assisted us over the last five weeks.”
