Mum says 'cleaning spreadsheet' is the key to a spotless home - but the internet is divided

A mum has divided opinion after revealing she keeps a cleaning spreadsheet and says it's the secret to keeping her home spick and span.

The mum shared the detailed cleaning rota with fellow mums  - and while some loved it, not all mums thought it was a great idea.

Posting on the Mums Who Clean Facebook page the mum said: “My cleaning list. This is mostly weekly, who else has a full cleaning list?”

The post encouraged other super-organised mums to reveal their own rotas - with one even sharing a professional-looking spreadsheet listing the to-do jobs in her home.

one said: "“I get a thrill out of being able to tick things off. I have a daily list, weekly, and a deep clean. I don’t always get to tick everything off but holy wow the sense of achievement when I do I.”

“I don’t have a list. But with 4 kids under 10, I have to vacuum 3 times a day, I do 1-2 loads of washing a day. And continually clean all day every day,” another woman said.

Another added: "I’m not even a super neat person but this seemed pretty sane. I might even steal it."

But while some were quick to emulate the lists, others said life was "too short".

One said: "I have a life to live and it’s not cleaning all day everyday. Oh, and my house is clean.

"Yep, there may be dust left for a week or so and then the floor may not be mopped more than once a week but it looks fine and I’d rather spend it doing the things that are important to me. If she feels she needs to clean all day, then good on her. Not for me."

Another said: "Come on? Do you people seriously live this way??? I think you need real jobs."

Another said: "Spend that time with your kids. It will always be there tomorrow! Life’s too short."
