Mum's warning to other parents after finding 'creepy' note in son's school bag

As a parent, you might find yourself constantly on the look out for potential threats or dangers your child could face.

But you might not be too worried about their safety while they're at school during the day.

However one mum has shown that you never can be too careful, after discovering a "creepy" note in her son's school bag.

The unnamed woman from Oklahoma has explained how she found a letter from her child's bus driver in his back pack which set off "alarm bells" in her head.

The older man who drives the 13-year-old boy home every day had scrawled a message saying he wanted to be friends with the boy and asking if they could "play" and "hug".

A copy of the inappropriate letter was shared with Oklahoma News 4.

It read: "I'm writing this note to you because as you know when school is out, there's really no time to talk, just a quick hug.

"For some time, I've been wanting to talk to you about spending time together with you and I. Maybe with some other friends of yours? What do you think?"

The mum, who wanted to remain anonymous for the sake of her son, told the news channel that she was horrified by the letter and immediately reported it to the school.

She said: "He wants to be chummy with my kid, he wants to do things that are unthinkable with my kid.

"I don't want it to escalate to where another child... nothing's done until something's done that's more irreversible than a note. I am very worried."

The school in question have since confirmed to reporters that the bus driver is "no longer employed".

An image of the note has also been doing the rounds on social media, where fellow parents said they were thankful it had been shared as a warning to stay vigilant.

One fellow mum labelled the whole thing "disgusting".

Another said: "Kids are not safe anywhere."

"Creepy, good thing she called him out," wrote a third parent.

"I'm proud of the child for giving the note to his mom and her reporting it. The police should let every school know this and the name," added someone else.
