Mum's warning after 'man in black Audi told her 14-year-old daughter to get in his car'

A mum has issued a chilling warning after a man allegedly tried to kidnap her 14-year-old daughter.

Sam Tudge, 32, said her daughter was on the way to her grandma's house when a man driving in a black Audi supposedly approached her daughter and told her to get in his car.

After the incident, which happened in North Hykeham near Newark, the girl's mum took to social media to warn other parents.

Sam told LincolnshireLive: "My daughter was walking to her grandma's when she was approached on Dore Avenue by the man.

"He said hi to her, she smiled and said hi back and then he asked her if she was ok and what her name was.

"My daughter then said bye and walked away. It was then that he told her to get in his car.

"She said no and started to run, he then drove after her and said get in the car or I'll grab you.

"My daughter literally ran as fast as she could until she got to my sister's flat which was luckily just around the corner. He followed her all the way there and then drove off at speed when she got into the flat."

Sam now wants other parents to be aware and make sure their children are kept safe.

"It's scary to know it could have been a different story if I hadn't brought them up to know what to do in that situation," said Sam.

"My daughter was so scared. She was screaming into the flat mic for my sister to let her in.

"She just automatically put herself in flight mode. She was very brave.

"There's definitely safety in numbers, always make sure your children are with someone. And make sure they are near somewhere safe, because if my sister's flat wasn't close it could have been so different."

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: "We received a report of an incident in Hutson Drive, North Hykeham, at 6.28pm on July 1.

"We are in the process of speaking with the parties involved and enquiries are ongoing.”

Anybody with information can contact Lincolnshire Police on 101 quoting incident 386 of July 1.
